Old Town Days continue today with a book fair and concerts

The 43. The 43rd Tallinn Old Town Days brought thousands of music lovers to Toompark to enjoy the great opening concert of Trad.Attack!. The first visitors to the festival arrived in the Old Town at noon, with activities at the craft fair, the Heritage Village, museums and courtyards.

Today, starting at 10 am, a book fair will take place on Vabaduse Square, where well-known authors such as Imbi Paju, Jaan Pehk, Kuido Merits, Maarja Kangro, Mart Kivastik, Mudlum, Peeter Sauter and Vladislav Koržets, as well as several publishing houses will introduce good literature. In the afternoon, the Old Town People's Library will host a panel discussion on the topic "How do books become Estonian?".

On Saturday, you can visit the Estonian Design and Applied Art Museum's courtyard for a market of Estonian design classics, the Green Market will host an antique crafts fair organised by the Old Town Society, and a craft market will be open to visitors on Niguliste Street.

On the main stage of Harju Street, the programme starts at noon with a clown show from the Copenhagen School of Comedy. Other performers during the day will include Meero Muusik, the Kohtla-Järve Gümnaasium youth orchestra, the ensemble Kuma, award-winning Norwegian musician Sturle Dagsland and the Northern Konn.

On Saturday evening, the Writers' House will host a concert of "singing literati", featuring Kaisa Ling, Lauri Sommer and Jaan Pehk. In the Bishop's Garden, an album of the same name, based on Vahur Afanasev's poetry collection "Songs of the Silver Hound", will be presented.

In the Toompargi LAHELA children and youth area, there will be concerts, workshops and participatory circus performances by the Luidja Circus. The LAHELA programme will be rounded off by a performance by the rap duo Clicherik & Mäx. A pet area will also be open in the same park, where a charity walk for pets will start at noon.

In addition, there will be a parade of chimney sweepers in the Old Town on Saturday, a poetry lunch with Anni Kreem, a family day at Kiek in de Kökki and much more. The Capital of Sport Cycling Day will take place on Vabaduse Square, where you can test yourself with Tanel Kangert. Several museums will have special programmes and guided tours. On Tornide väljak, there will be the Pärimusküla (Heritage Village) with craft workshops and folk dance performances. The day will end with a Silent Disco in the Bishop's Garden.
