Thousands of visitors flocked to the Old Town Days on Saturday. The largest audience was drawn to the main stage by the Northern Bunch led by Valter Soosalu, while the younger audience was attracted by Toompark's rap party Clicherik & Mäx.
During the day, nearly a hundred different events took place in the Old Town - a book fair was held in Freedom Square, a parade of chimney sweeps marched through the streets, and a charity walk for our four-legged friends, to name but a few. There were also tours of the Old Town's houses, streets and parks.
Singing literati - Kaisa Ling, Jaan Pehk and Lauri Sommer - and Emma J. Lepasoo and Grigori Rõšuk introduced the album "Songs of Hõbehundi", and Meero Musicians, the youth orchestra of Kohtla-Järve Gymnasium, the ensemble Kuma and others performed. Sturle Dagsland offered a special experience on the main stage.
Sunday programme offers plenty of activities especially for families. Puppet performances inspired by the Book Year will be staged in Town Hall Square, and the Old Town Poetry Festival will start at 15:00, where young wordsmiths will compete.
Archaeological excavations and medieval yard games will be on display in the Great Guild building, while a family day will be held in the Thick Margareeta. In Toompargi, LAHELA is a children's and youth area with workshops and children's concerts. The public can enjoy a magic show by Fred-Erik Johanson. "Illusion" and a clown show from a Danish comedy school. The Heritage Village will continue in Towers Square, with craft workshops and folk dance performances.
In the House of Fine Artists Hobusepea 2, on the other hand, will host an open studio day and guided tours from the basement to the attic.
However, a traditional craft market will be open on Niguliste Street, and student businesses will also be taking part today.
On stage during the day Tallinn Voluntary Firefighting Association’s Wind Orchestra, Northern Lights and Tidi & gang. At 19, there will be 43. Tallinn Old Town Days closing concert with. Sibyl Vane.
