PHOTOS: A fun Saturday at the Old Town Days

The second day of the Tallinn Old Town Festival offered an unexpectedly warm sunshine and a pleasant humming all over the Old Town. Check out yesterday's gallery of a party-filled city night and a concert by villemdrillem and Elina Born. Read our recommendations for the day's highlights.

The second festival day of the Old Town Days brought out the warm sun and delighted thousands of party-goers young and old. All festival-goers, folk dancers and singers, crafters, artisans and those just looking for a festival experience enjoyed themselves. There was even a festive cuckoo walk or procession for four-legged friends in Snell Park.

However, among the dozens of ethnic and folk concerts performed during the day, the hits of villemdrillem and Elina Born stood out the most. A more alternative performance by the Kosmikute also sounded different, but still powerful.

Sunday's final with Liisi Koikson

Starting today at 14:00, the Estonian passionate, powerful and provocative blues frontwoman Kaisa Ling Thing will take to the stage. At 16, the soulfully feminine Rubundi will be on the same stage.

The finale of the evening, and of the whole Old Town Days festival, will be a concert by the Liisi Koikson Trio, together with the magical Taiko drumming ensemble TeamEn, starting at 18:00. It will be a fitting finale, a blend of enchanting harmonies with traditional Japanese drums. Accompanied by a beautiful female voice and flute sounds, listeners will be taken on a mystical musical journey from the Nordic countries to Japan and back.

Dozens of museums, exhibitions, orienteering games, workshops and more will be open throughout the Old Town from Sunday morning. In the Toompargi Lahela, children will find all kinds of entertainment, from face painting to themed theatres and puppet shows. At 16:00, the "Wanted Battle" street dance competition series will kick off a dance festival of its own on Town Hall Square.

The stage of cultural richness in the Komandandi garden will be taken over by Saaremaa's singers, dancers and musicians on Sunday. You can hear authentic fiddle, carmouche and more modern jazz.

Take the latter, because today marks the end of three fun-filled days in the Old Town.
