Come to Old Town Days today!

From today until Sunday, the 43. Tallinn Old Town Days will take place. The opening concert will be by Trad.Attack! at Toompark and it might be their last concert in the capital.  

Inspired by the Year of the Estonian Book, the Old Town Days programme pays special attention to Estonian books, writers and poets, and literary patrons. 

Even though the opening ceremony of the Old Town Days will not take place until Friday evening, the Old Town is already buzzing with activity from the morning. Catherine of the Guild host the exhibition "From Word to Form", until Sunday, that will allow visitors to see and experience Estonian-language stem texts interpreted in various forms of applied art. There also will be special tours to . Tallinn City Archives, Toompea Castle and the Knighthood building.. Interested parties are welcome to Tallinn City Hall to explore the building from the basement to the attic. Church of St Olaf at noon, inspired by the Year of the Book, Bible reading will begin and is scheduled to end in 90 hours. On Friday evening Berit Kashan Knight & Matilda bookshop in the old town with its new poetry collection "April".

The festival stages, however, will be filled with good music. Vaiko Eplik and Eliit will present the album "I'm going to be a salesman", created to texts by Betti Alver, on the main stage of Harju street on Friday, and in Niguliste church there will be a concert by Kadri Voorand and Una Corda. In the courtyard of the Stenbock House, a concert will be given by Daniel Levi. Concerts will also take place in the Kullo Children's Gallery, the Kanutiaiaia Hobby School, the Bishop's Garden and elsewhere in the Old Town. 

From Friday to Sunday, however, Towers Square will host Heritage village, where folk art societies perform and the Estonian Folk Arts and Crafts Association organises workshops. Throughout the weekend at the Niguliste street there is the craft market.
