Guided tour "The Old Town in the Olympic spirit"

The Museum of Estonian Architecture invites you to the Tallinn Old Town Days and the exhibition "TALLINN IN FULL. Olympic construction transforming the city" to the Architour "Old Town in the Olympic spirit".

Tallinn changed a lot, and changed fast, in the run-up to the Olympics. In addition to several new buildings such as the Pirita Sailing Centre, the TV Tower and the Olympic Hotel, there was a wider focus on improving local living conditions and restoring cultural heritage. For the mass restoration, additional help was needed, and Polish restorers with experience of large-scale restoration work in Warsaw were invited to work with the Polish restorers, who continued to collaborate and whose restoration work forms an important historical layer in Tallinn's Old Town.

Heritage guard Boris Duboviku we will explore history, heritage issues and architectural solutions by following the paths of Polish restorers.

Participants on the tour can also visit the exhibitions at the Museum of Estonian Architecture, Ahtri 2, with the same ticket.

Gathering in front of Tallinn Town Hall
Ticket: 12€
