Open Studios Day at the House of Fine Arts

As part of the Old Town Days, a house with a distinguished history, which has been a centre of jewellery art for over a hundred years, will open its doors on Hobusepea Street. Today, the building, which belongs to the Union of Estonian Artists, is home to dozens of studios and creative people, mostly jewellery artists.

The house bustles with life and creativity in an unbroken tradition - classic machines and goldsmithing techniques are joined by newer techniques and modern technologies.

Under the hands of artists, unique jewellery and series products are created, which are already familiar to many jewellery lovers. These studios are also the birthplace of exhibitions that have won acclaim in Estonia and abroad.

Although the house is a daily operation, and many studios can only be visited by appointment, a couple of times a year the studios open their doors at the same time to showcase their work and skilled craftspeople, and to showcase their wonderful creations.

During the day, one of the house's artists and history enthusiast Katarina Kotselainen will give three tours of the house, introducing its fascinating history and its inhabitants.

Visiting the studios is free of charge.
