Insect survey "Residents of Tallinn City Wall"

During the Old Town Days, you can test yourself together with the Estonian Museum of Natural History at the Nature Watching Marathon, which takes place this year on 7. June. The Estonian Museum of Natural History's public observation area is Toompark.

Insects are all around us - even in places we wouldn't notice them at first glance. Even the historic limestone walls of the Old Town can hide a vibrant and diverse insect world. This time we won't rush past them, but take the time to get to know them better.

Let's sharpen our eyes, prick up our ears and dive into a fascinating insect world. We'll find out what species you can find in urban spaces, how insects adapt to their habitat and what role they play in our ecosystem. We'll also share fascinating insect stories to help you understand their mysterious and diverse lives.

To make the experience even more immersive, all participants will be able to try out the role of an insect tracker themselves. We'll use butterfly nets and other exploration tools to catch a glimpse of swift-winged and other feisty creatures. It's a great way to see nature's little wonders from a whole new angle!

Supervised by a biologist from the Estonian Museum of Natural History Leif-August Kirs.

We will gather in Snell Park near the stadium, exact location. ON THE CARD.

NOTE! There will be no tour in rainy weather.
