Family Morning at the Museum of Estonian Architecture

The Museum of Estonian Architecture invites you to a family tour and workshop on Saturday, 7 June at 12.00. We will start with a group tour of the exhibition "TALLINN IN FULL. Olympic construction transforming the city" and then everyone is welcome to participate in the bookmarking workshop.

The exhibition celebrates the 45th anniversary of the 1980 Tallinn Olympic Regatta and introduces the Olympic construction as one of Tallinn's most ambitious urban projects, with more than 120 architectural objects designed.

Tallinn changed a lot, and changed fast, in the run-up to the Olympics. Famous buildings such as the Pirita Sailing Sports Centre, the TV Tower, the Olympia Hotel and the new terminal of Tallinn Airport were completed, but the focus was also on improving local life more broadly. In the wake of the Olympics, residential buildings, offices, health centres and cultural facilities were built by Estonian architects, interior designers and engineers.

At 12.30, we will start with a workshop where we will take a closer look at the kites of the Old Town and get inspired to make bookmarks. The workshop is suitable for both children and adults, children under 10 are welcome with a parent.

The Family Morning is led by our museum teacher Iris Jurma-Kangur.
Registration for the tour and the workshop will take place in Fienta.
