The Kiek in de Kök defence tower has played an important role in the history of Estonian and Tallinn's freedom. The six-storey tour shows how the city, which prospered from the Hanseatic trade, invested in its defences, city walls and towers, how it equipped itself with weapons and how it resisted the Muscovites' attempts to conquer it. The tower's new permanent exhibition, "Fortified City, Strong Fortress", tells the story of the city's glorious defensive history and its citizens' defence capabilities.
Guided by historians Toomas Helpers, Tõnu Pedaru and Ando Pajus.
Duration about 2 hours.
