Tidi & the gang is a collective led by singer-songwriter Karoliine-Lisette Kõiv aka Tidi. The ensemble brings sincerely beautiful and layered music to the stage, which will captivate even the dullest pair of ears. The lyrics were written by Tidi herself, and the songs also feature lyrics by Hando Runnel and Marie Under.
In February 2022, Tidi&bande entered the Estonian music scene with their debut album "Hommikpäevõhtuöö". The band's musical role model is the infamous Frank Zappa, whose principles lead the band to do all the production and distribution of their music themselves. This makes the band a truly independent artist. The band's music has been influenced by other artists such as Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, Ben Howard, Laura Marling, Mari Kalkun, Ewert & The Two Dragons, Jason Mraz and Nick Drake.
Tidi&bande consists of six different musicians - violinist Marta Külaots, keyboard player Elsa Högren, guitarist Kaur Einasto, bassist Ekke Janisk, drummer Eric Manni and songwriter and arranger, singer, violinist and guitarist Karoliine Kõiv aka Tidi.
All the members have studied at various Estonian music schools such as UT VKA, EMTA, Otsakool and Ellerikool. The band has recently released a solo duet "sans bande" and their own version of Maria Peterson and Eva Eensaar-Tootsen's song "Nii palju on vaadata" (So much to look at), with lyrics by Juhan Viiding. In spring 2025 they will release their second collection, a short album "tule nagu oled" (Come as you are).
